Through vibrant color, layered symbolism, texture, and imagination, I transform familiar subjects into invitations to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quiet magic woven into everyday life. Larissa Sweetland's artistic journey began long before she imagined becoming a professional artist.
As a child, she was captivated by the stories behind great painters, but it was the work of Georgia O'Keeffe that forever altered the way she saw the world. O'Keeffe's monumental flowers, expressive brushwork, and fearless use of color revealed that even the simplest subjects could become extraordinary when viewed with intention. That realization stayed with Larissa as she sold her very first painting at a fifth-grade art fair—an experience filled equally with wonder that someone would cherish her work and sadness that she would never see the piece again. She continued studying art throughout her school years before pursuing interior design in college, where she discovered that creating meaningful spaces and creating meaningful artwork were simply two expressions of the same calling.

A graduate of the Milan Art Institute, Larissa now balances her career as a professional artist with her work in interior design, allowing each discipline to enrich the other. She approaches both with the conviction that art should not merely decorate a home, but transform the way it is experienced. Looking ahead, Larissa envisions expanding her paintings into thoughtfully crafted textiles that can be both worn and woven into the home, blurring the line between fine art and everyday living. Guided by the belief that beauty belongs in the rituals of daily life, she hopes to create pieces that invite people to surround themselves with meaningful design. Equally devoted to cat rescue, she is developing future collections that celebrate the grace, curiosity, and quiet companionship of felines while supporting causes close to her heart.
